What is Cardio Tennis?

Cardio Tennis is a fun, friendly fitness class based on a tennis court adjusted to people of all ages and abilities. It is supported by music and qualified coaches, where you get lots of hits and a cardio workout at the same time. Check out the video below.

What is Skills Tennis?

 

Skills tennis is all about technique. The pace is a little slower however we refine your tennis strokes and give you tips to maximise your game.

 

At Active Tennis Coaching, we run combined Cardio and Skills Tennis group lessons where you get skills technique coaching and a cardio workout at the same time.

 

What is a typical class like?

Your trained coach will guide you through a 60 minute class consisting of:

Warm Up

We start with some stretching, skills and drills to get your body and mind warm before the session begins

Cardio and skills section

Here’s where you get the heart pumping with a variety of fitness activities mixed with lots of chances to hit loads of shots, including forehands, backhands, serves and volleys whilst working on your technique.

 

Game bases activites

Practice your shots with fun tennis games. We focus on all tennis strokes and transition them to game play.

Cool down

Now it’s time to recover and stretch

Do I need to be fit?

No! Cardio Tennis is for anyone who wants to have fun while getting fit.

​

What equipment will I need to bring?

Please bring along your own racket if you have one.  If not don't worry as you will be able to borrow one. Wear comfortable gym gear, active sports shoes (or tennis shoes) and a water bottle. On sunny days, you may like to bring a hat and sunglasses.

Do I need to be good at tennis?

No! Our Cardio and Skills Tennis is for anyone who wants to get fit and have a go at tennis. The class moves along quickly, no one will be judging your skills, and it doesn’t matter whether the ball goes in or out. We teach you how to improve your game!
